Overview

Biosignal Analysis - October 21st - 24th, 2013

Head: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Björn Eskofier

Description:

Today's measurement techniques record physiological and biomechanical signals of athletes and patients (e.g. ECG, EMG, EEG). Kinematic and kinetic information from inertial sensors is used for the assessment of movement disorders which can help to better understand the signals generated in the human body and to help the patients.

3D Imaging in Medicine - March 25th - 28th, 2014

Head: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Hornegger

Description:

The scope of the "3-D Imaging in Medicine" conference covers innovative, mathematically founded methods from the field of pattern recognition with a clear focus on applications in medical imaging and engineering. New approaches dealing with imaging or imaging related applications open a broad spectrum of more effective and safe medical diagnosis solutions. The importance of the interdisciplinary collaboration between medical doctors and engineers has never been more important. It is a challenge, all researchers from this field have to face. This conference offers a platform to exchange the newest research results from both sides - computer scientists and physicians. Image reconstruction algorithms and fusion of sensor data and image registration meets pathological expertise as well as an anatomical understanding of the human body.

Telemedicine for Speech Disorder - April 7th - 10th, 2014

Head: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Elmar Nöth

Description:

Usage of telemedical technology and signal processing algorithms allow the detection and treatment of various pathological symptoms like stuttering, dysarthric speech and aphasia. Novel developments and the constantly improving stability of the internet allow the consultation of remote expert knowledge even during time critical situations like acute stroke treatment. This conference focuses on further development of this technology showing state of the art developments and products from Brazil and Germany, in order to foster new and existing collaborations.
